about
Nottingham SOS24 is a campaign organisation local to Nottingham, made of different actors in our community such as concerned citizens, trade unions and students. We are campaigning against the cuts to local public services and jobs proposed by Nottingham City Council, which will see the closures of Care Homes, Youth Centres, and Welfare Cervices. We also oppose rises in council tax and increases existing charges and the introduction of new ones for council services to compensate for government underfunding.

Moreover, we unreservedly condemn the appointment of unelected Central Government Commissioners into Nottingham City Council. Their role will be the try and force through enormous cuts, privatisation, and sale of council assets.
The government has stolen approximately £1 billion in funding from Nottingham in the last 10 years- we are calling on the restoration of that funding.
We also call on our elected councillors to: publicly fight for substantial funding from Central Government, oppose any cuts to local public services, and go into their local communities to build support for full investment for our community services.
To get involved and join the fight against these savage cuts to local public services, send us an email at NottinghamSOS@outlook.com
